Well, you wouldn’t believe what I did this week. Although, I’m sure the title of this blog may have given you a hint.

I’ve written a book and will have it published in February 2011. Now, there’s a story behind it and in my next blog post, I will tell you what it is about and other useful information.

Tuesday was a mixed bag of a day. Everything that could go wrong did. That’s a rare thing for me. Let’s face it. My life is usually happy-go-lucky and I have far more good days than bad ones (Thanks and glory be to God!). Therefore, this was not commonplace and it got to me.

I remember driving home from an appointment after Bible study with some wonderful, special women—thinking how yucky the day was and I started to pray. Little did I expect what followed.

As I drove home for 20 minutes, I realized it was the start of a New Year and I, frankly, wasn’t very prepared for it in some ways. I was in others, but in the ways that counted, I wasn’t prepared. Needless to say, that only added to the yuckyness (made-up word) of the day. After all, I usually buy a new Bible and start a new Daily Devotional at the start of every year. I hadn’t even thought of it until I was in my car—feeling blue and just not right in general. This realization only made me feel worse.

Ugh!

So, I asked God for His forgiveness and listened to what He had to say as I swiped at the tears as they rolled down my cheeks. He asked me what Bible I would get if I could get a new one right that moment. I thought about it and was pleased with my response: there wasn’t one. I have all of the Bibles I want and need. Praise God! That has been 16 years in the making. Victory!

Then, God asked me what Daily Devotional I would buy if I could in that present moment. I stay up to date with these things and am familiar with what’s out there. That’s part of being an author, I have to keep up with the market and what’s out there and what isn’t—and when. In other words, I know the trends and what’s available.

Well, the answer surprised me. There wasn’t one out there that I wanted. I have several Daily Devotionals and realized that this year, I was looking for something more specific.

Once I got over the shock of this realization, God asked me, “So, what are you looking for, then?”

I went into a tirade of what I wanted this year. As I described my heart’s desire, I realized I felt quite passionate about it and wished that there was something out there like what I was looking for. But, there wasn’t. Drat.

“Why don’t you write it, Stacy?” I heard God ask me.

Duh! I am a writer. I know how to write and publish books. So, that only made sense.

I could do that, I told the Lord.

But, I foresaw one problem. I wanted the book NOW. I didn’t want to wait for it.

“So, write it now. It won’t take you very long at all,” God encouraged me.

Needless to say, that’s what I did this week. I just submitted it to the printer and will have it available in February.

That’s what I did this week—since Wednesday morning. I worked at it like an obsessed lunatic (or obsessive lunatic), but I actually did it and should have a proof in my hands in about 2 weeks.

And, what did you do this week? (That’s me being goofy and trying to get you to laugh at me.)

Check out the next blog post on this site for the book description.

Keep checking my website and blog of http://www.rememberingyourpresent.wordpress.com for more publishing and book news. There will be a store there and other resources listed there as well regarding this book and others.

Keep checking my blog of: http://www.pj4life.wordpress.com for specific information about this book and I will start to put a great deal of information about it on this website.

I still can’t believe I wrote a book in less than 2 days and have it at the printer already! What a miracle.

Still Amazed,

News

The year 2010 surprised me in many ways. I also think I surprised myself in many ways throughout the year. I always find it amazing how wrong I can be about some things and how God always has far more blessings to bestow than I could ever anticipate. All of this can easily be said of the year 2010.

As you know, I am an author of Biblical Fiction and books on journalkeeping. I also am a journalkeeper. 2010 brought me to publish three of my books on Amazon. I have 5 more in the works at the moment. I also need to get them all put onto Kindle. I also love to write devotionals.

I am sure you’ve also noticed how I tend to be all over the map as far as my writing and seem to always get a new vision. At this point, I think it’s Biblical Fiction, pj4life (Prayer Journaling for Life), and devotionals. I will walk you through it over the next week or so as I pray about it and start to set up my goals for the New Year. I do know 3 goals for sure:

Goal #1: Lose 38 pounds.

Goal #2: Write 6 books (3 Biblical Fiction books and 3 pj4life books).

Goal #3: Read through the Bible in a year.

There will be more to follow…

Have a blessed day and know that you’re in my thoughts and prayers.

LIFE NEVER ASKED ME WHAT I WANTED—HOW ABOUT YOU?

I don’t know about you, but life has never asked me what I wanted. Instead, life seems to have plans of its own, and usually to my chagrin.

Let me say all of that in the Christian context.

I have plans. God shakes His head and reminds me that HE has plans.

My writing is one of those. As you can see from how little I’ve been writing lately, writing ahs been one of those plans that God hasn’t had for me lately.

I will check in with you mostly at:

http://www.rememberchrist.wordpress.com

So, check there before you check anywhere else about the latest and greatest information about me, my writing, my life, etc.

I cherish your prayers as God has me move into full-time ministry and hope to write on the side.

God bless.

GREETINGS

Hello, my friend. How are you today? How has your week been so far? How’s your family and how is work? I’ve been thinking and praying for you.

LOTS GOING ON HERE

I wanted to write and catch you up with everything going on in my life… Which is LOTS. There’s a lot going on here—or lots going on here—depending on how you want to phrase it.

1st, news about life in general. You’ll notice that I haven’t mentioned my husband’s name in my blog or what he does for a living. There is a reason for that. I want to respect his privacy. He doesn’t have much of a choice about his wife being a writer, but I can offer him his privacy. Now, having said that… I will be a little more specific about what he does for a living, but still vague. Let’s just say that he’s a ‘ministry leader’. That’s precisely what he does, but it’s more specific than that.

Now, having said all of that, I need to tell you more specifically what’s going on in my life so you understand what’s new in my world.

2nd, since my husband and I got back to Omaha and his ministry here, we’ve both been asked to take on a much more public role which requires a great deal of our time and resources as we spread the gospel and support present Christians who are part of the ministry.

Well, that isn’t entirely true. He was asked. God told me to become just as active. My main roles are: listening, prayer, supporting my husband, and Bible study—plus my writing.

Needless to say, time has become very limited in my life. Very limited. Let me stress that component.

3rd, every day requires 3-4 hours in Bible study, prayer, and reflection in order to make sure I’m straight with God and am doing what I need to be doing and am focused on what I’m supposed to focus on—God and His Word. If I’m right where I need to be spiritually, I have more to offer my husband, his ministry, and our ministry.

4th, because my time is not my own, you’ll see a little less of me in some ways. I’m having to make some difficult choices and need to focus on what really matters—what God wants from me and my life. See the section below of: “I’m Not Sure…”

Consequently, you’ll see fewer blogs and fewer journal entries at the following: https://rememberingyourpresent.wordpress.com and at: http://rememberchrist.livejournal.com

My new full-time and most updated blog is at: http://www.rememberchrist.wordpress.com

SACRIFICE

Ministry, and working for the Lord, always requires sacrifice. This is no different.

I’M NOT SURE—AS FAR AS MY WRITING GOES…

I have no idea whatsoever as to what’s going on with my writing. I just know that I will write devotionals and thoughts at my main blog of: http://rememberchrist.wordpress.com frequently and at http://rememberpresent.livejournal.com from time to time.

My ColMystery series has been put on hold. Figures. So, don’t look for that any time soon.

But, I’ll keep you updated on this blog of: http://www/rememberingyourpresent.wordpress.com regarding my writing. So, stay tuned periodically.

PARTING THOUGHT:

Luke 9:23-24 (NLT) states:

23 Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me. 24 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.

This is what I’m holding onto… Luke 9:23-24 (NLT).

Check me out at:

http://rememberchrist.wordpress.com

See you there.

 Blessings,
